Chef Olivier Oddos arrived in Japan to teach at a cooking school and stayed to open a restaurant that would serve as a bridge between France and Japan. He pours his labours into selecting the right ingredients, cooking with just the right heat and preparing sauces. A red wine sauce called bordelaise and a small pastry called canelé are home cooking in his native Bordeaux. The restaurant’s simple, humble name expresses the warm atmosphere, while portraits by his mother watch tenderly over the room.
