The figure that stands atop the Old Town’s Latvian Freedom Monument is affectionately named Milda, and this unassuming-looking restaurant shares her name. Traditional recipes from Latvia and neighbouring Lithuania take the lead, but are given a light, modern touch and presented in a contemporary manner. Dishes such as Latvian pelmeni or grey peas with bacon and sour cream sit alongside Lithuanian favourites like cepelinai (potato dumplings). Service is warm and everything is great value.
