In Söflingen, a district of Ulm, the historic courtyard of a former Clarissan convent dating from 1258 is home to an attractive hotel with individually designed rooms and a lovely restaurant. In the modern setting that has been created within the old walls, a friendly, attentive team serves delicious dishes made with carefully sourced ingredients. The accomplished chef presents a focused à la carte selection of classics, including cheese spaetzle tartufo, roast beef, and caviar specialities. On Tue there is an additional three-course schnitzel menu; Wed-Sat, a fine dining set menu of four, six or seven courses – think "scallop, onion, hazelnut" or "veal neck, mushroom, cabbage, truffle". A vegetarian version is also available. Well-chosen wine list.
